Annual fundraising dinner honors legacies of Fannie Lou Hamer and Governor William Winter; Early Bird pricing available through March 30
JACKSON, MS — The Mississippi Democratic Party today announced that tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Hamer-Winter Dinner, the Party’s signature annual fundraising event honoring the enduring legacies of civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer and former Mississippi Governor William Winter. The dinner will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Hamer-Winter Dinner celebrates the legacies of two transformative Mississippians while recognizing today’s champions of democracy across the state. The event serves as a centerpiece for the Mississippi Democratic Party’s fundraising and organizing efforts heading into the 2026 election cycle.
"After 13 years, we broke the supermajority in the State Senate, and we're just getting started," said Mikel Bolden, Executive Director of the Mississippi Democratic Party. "The Hamer-Winter Dinner is where we celebrate the torchbearers who made that possible and recommit to the work ahead. From Freedom Summer to right now, Mississippi's story is not finished. Come be part of writing the next chapter."
The evening will be hosted by comedian, musician, and veteran Rita Brent and will feature special guest appearances, including TikTok’s Papa Mississippi, the popular Mississippi history and civic education content creator.
Early Bird Pricing Available Now Through March 30
Tickets are available now, with Early Bird pricing of $75 available through March 30. Full pricing takes effect on March 31.
