Millsaps Students Complete State of the State Survey
Mississippi voters are uncertain about the direction of their state, wary of insufficient public school funding and overall quality, and open to considering new funding streams to provide for public education. These findings and more are detailed in the results of the first ever Millsaps College-Chism Strategies State of the State Survey.

State GOP Leaders Keep Silent on Health Care Destruction
Not one Mississippi elected Republican has stood against the President's latest policy. Not one Senator, not one Congressman, not one legislator, city, or county elected official. The Republicans' support of this agenda against Mississippians is deafening.

On October 4, Congressman John Lewis of Atlanta delivered a powerful speech decrying Congressional inaction to consider reasonable gun violence in the aftermath of the Las Vegas horror.
Mr. Lewis, a living legend and a powerful and wise voice steeped in personal struggle, knows better than most that of which he speaks. Though Mr. Lewis represents a Georgia district, he speaks for us all. Thank you again, Mr. Lewis.

We elect these women and men starting at the grass roots level to be our out-front torch bearers. Composed of working people, retirees and professionals, our leadership is direct evidence of the dynamic diversity of our party.
These life-long, committed, Democrats stick with us even if the levees break. They fill the sand bags and tote them to the crevasse not only by generous donations but by reliable and invaluable volunteerism. They and other affiliate groups help us keep the furrows straight.
