Budget Blame Game
Social media is a great place to read arguments on issues, but we all know what we read there is not the gospel. When addressing the budget mess this week, the legislative super-majority's leadership offered the following example of who they thought was paying taxes, even though tax collections have continued to slide each month below estimates.
People bend numbers and the facts in ways to suit their needs. For sure, the lobbyists that work every day to make sure their clients get their fair share of tax breaks, grants, and other 'corporate welfare,' by way of our tax dollars, support the leadership's position.
However, there was another approach forwarded in answer to that position this week.
As one media network says, "We report – you decide." Look at the facts and make up your own mind on this issue.
