Columnist Sid Salter makes a relevant point about Sen. Thad Cochran’s decision to oppose Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court:

Mississippi lawmakers like Thad Cochran chafed when some of the same senators who voted to approve Pickering’s nomination to the U.S. District Court opposed his elevation to the Court of Appeals.

Yet that’s exactly what Sen. Cochran did to Sotomayor – voted for her nomination to the Court of Appeals, but says now he’s vote against her for the U.S Supreme Court.

Some would call that hypocrisy.

  1. [...] The Mississippi Democrat Party joins the nonsense of calling Cochran hypocritical. Please learn the difference between invoking cloture [...]

  2. Will Smith says:

He is. We all know that he’s voting against her because she was nominated by President Obama.
