Do much race-baiting?

Majority in Mississippi, a righty blog, is taking AG Jim Hood to task over his dealings with Entergy.

While we expect Republican blogs to try and tear down Hood, who has been a strong advocate for the rights of Mississippi’s consumers, we are a little taken aback by two things:

  1. Their observation of how easy a job AG is.
  2. Their allusion to Jesse Jackson in this post.

See for yourself:

AGs across the country, whether Democrat or Republican, have one of the most cushiony jobs in politics. They can go after people and or companies that the public might have a negative view of and then cut campaign ads spotlighting their work; and when things do not go their way they can simply say there was nothing they could do because of the law. Jim Hood has become a master of this.

By all accounts, Entergy is a good company, and employs a lot of Mississippians. However, they have not given in to Hood’s Jesse Jackson-like shakedown, and are the object of his latest campaign.

I won’t get into the trials and tribulations of being an AG, but it’s safe to say that most reasonable people understand it to be a high-pressure position.

As to the comment about Jesse Jackson… Well, it makes no sense. Throwing Jesse Jackson’s name in there is not germane to the story in any way.

Unless, of course, our Republican friends at MIM are doing a little bit of race baiting. (Nah, Republican talking heads never do that…)
