Bryant Is No George Washington

You know the tale about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree and not being able to lie about it? The same thing can’t be said about Phil Bryant and Voter ID.

Bryant and Republicans in the Senate killed a Voter ID bill this past session. It was a bill that passed the House and the Senate, and then was killed on a procedural maneuver.

But it seems that Bryant has a bit of revisionist history he is spreading. This is what he told a Starkville Rotary Club:

When asked after the meeting why those who want to see it happen are trying to take it to the polls, he said backers have been unable “to get it out of the House of Representatives.”

The truth? Bryant and his cronies killed a perfectly good Voter ID bill and are now scrambling around the state trying to save face.

Shame on you, Mr. Bryant. Stop spreading lies and start telling the truth. No one likes a fibber!
