Affirmative Action Committee • Eduardo Martinez, Chairman • The Affirmative Action Committee develops a delegate selection plan and an affirmative action plan subject to ratification and approval of the State Executive Committee and National Party. An annual plan shall be presented to the State Executive Committee for adoption.

Budget and Finance Committee • Susan McNease, Chairwoman • The Budget and Finance Committee oversees the financial operation of the State Party. It plans, develops and implements fundraising activities.

Campaign Committee • Bryant Clark, Chairman • The Campaign Committee serves as a liaison between duly certified Democratic candidates and the candidates’ campaign organization during general election campaigns and assists in the election of Democratic candidates.

Education and Membership Committee • Dierdre Payne, Chairwoman • The Education and Membership Committee develops and implements plans for carrying out educational activities for citizens of Mississippi and Party members on the purpose, philosophy and activities of the Democratic Party.

Elections Committee • Tommy Reynolds, Chairman • The Election Committee keeps the party abreast of all election laws, supervises the conduct of primary elections, oversees the certification of candidates and monitors election returns according to state and Federal law.

Federation of Democratic Women Committee • Mary Katherine Brown, Chairwoman • The Federation of Democratic Women Committee serves as a liaison between the official Mississippi Federation of Democratic Women and the Mississippi Democratic Party. The committee assists in the development of Democratic Women Federations. All members of this committee must be active members of the State Federation of Democratic Women.

Party Development and Organization Committee • Pam Johnson, Chairwoman • The Party Development and Organization Committee function develops and implements plans for the strengthening of Party organization at all levels.

Platform Committee • David Baria, Chairman • The Platform Committee provides a forum for discussing issues of importance to Mississippi Democrats, brings the results of those discussions to the State Executive Committee, develops the process by which a State Party platform shall be produced and published during each presidential election year, and helps provide platform deliberations of the National Party with input from the State Party.

Senior Democrats Committee • Larry Coleman, Chairman • The Senior Democrats Committee serves as a liaison between senior citizens and the Mississippi Democratic Party. The committee encourages the active participation of senior citizens in Democratic Party activities.

Voter Registration Committee • Marilyn Hansell, Chairwoman • The Voter Registration Committee affects an on-going process — as well as special, concerned efforts and drives — for registering as many potential Democratic voters as possible.

Young Democrats Committee • Scott Billingsley, Chairman • The Young Democrats Committee serves as a liaison between the official Mississippi Young Democrats organization and the Mississippi Democratic Party. The committees also assists in the development of Young Democrats organizations.
